Located in the hills of the Eastern San Fernando Valley, this ranch
fulfilled my mother’s lifelong dream of being close to nature.
The
original founder and creator of Walk'n Y Ranch was my Mom, Tanya Lee
Yank. My name is Don Anderson, a resident of Boise, ID.

For more
information about my mom, here is a link to
Tanya's profile.
Mom purchased the property in 1995 and never stopped
making improvements to the property up to the time she lost her battle
with cancer in 2009.
My
Mom and my brother personally selected and transported every rock that
make up the rock garden at the entrance of the property. Contractors
were kept busy adding creature comforts such as designing an L-shaped
out building complete with custom stained glass window and attached
horse stall, extending the roof on the house for shade, adding shelters
over the pipe corrals, replacing an ivy-clad fence with a block wall,
building a deluxe chicken coop, installing metal doors to the barn area,
and welding horseshoes in a ‘wave’ pattern to the now-iconic
patina-colored wrought iron fence.
Here are some pictures of those projects that Mom was so proud of and
make the ranch the wonderful place that it is today:
Since 1999, Rosario Penuelas has maintained the grounds
at the Walk’n Y Ranch and continues to preserve the park-like setting. Words
can’t express the gratitude I have for Rosario’s willingness to take on any task
necessary to keep my mother comfortable in her last days.
